How to Get Here

The three travel options you have are car, train or plane. Driving from the channel ports takes about ten hours and is virtually motorway all the way. In fact, driving down from Calais, the first traffic light you come to is in Bourg St Maurice!

Driving gives you maximum independence once you arrive and is the preferred option of most of my guests. It is a legal requirement to have chains in your car. A 4x4 is a definite advantage too.

Travelling by Eurostar direct from London/Ashford to Bourg is perhaps the most relaxed way to travel, though the service only runs on a Friday night and a Saturday morning. One can take Eurostar from London or Ashford to Paris and then change to a Bourg train. This can allow for a day in Paris on the way there or back and can be taken any day.

By plane to Geneva, Chambery, Grenoble or Lyon. We can arrange transfers although many choose to hire a car. This option is perhaps the most flexible and gives guests the most freedom. Journey times around 2 ¾ hours except for Chambery which is just an hour and a half.
