The Food

We put particular emphasis on gourmet food at Le Chalet du Rassel. Our professional Chef (who returns this year) prepares a continental and cooked breakfast each morning before we head out skiing. Upon our return to the chalet in the evening we warm up in front of the fire with tea, biscuits and cakes. Prior to dinner we often serve canapés with a glass of champagne whilst discussing the days adventures.

The evening meal consists of four delicious courses with unlimited red and white wine. We generally select our wines from the nearby Rhone Valley, travelling down in the autumn to sample suitable styles and vintages to compliment the food we serve during the winter.

Menus are balanced and varied using the finest local and imported produce. We can take care of all dietary requirements and aim to satisfy all tastes. We always have a fantastic cheese board featuring the best local cheeses, often made by farmers whose cattle graze on the land surrounding the chalet.

The staff have one night off per week, so we use this as an opportunity to sample the local restaurants. These include the fabulous Chez Merie, a rustic converted farmhouse in nearby Le Miroir which serves impressive mountain cuisine often cooked over an open fire. Or Le Monal, the hub of the local social scene which has a choice of three restaurants and a bar.
